Steps

1
Prep - Closed Preheat

Place a V60 02 paper filter in the Switch and close the valve. Pour 150 g of hot water, wait 30 seconds, then open the valve and drain into the server. Discard the rinse water. Close the valve again, add the coffee and start the brew within 30 seconds.

0:00
0:00 - Closed Bloom

With the valve closed, pour to 50 g and swirl until all the coffee is wet.

0:40
0:40 - Build the Immersion

Keep the valve closed and pour steadily to 175 g. Swirl gently; the Switch 02 is close enough to full that stirring is not needed. Cover the top with a small plate during the closed steep.

2:00
2:00 - Open

Open the valve and let the immersion phase begin to drain.

2:30
2:30 - Top Up

When the water level is about halfway down, pour slowly in the centre to 230 g. Keep the level below where it was when you opened the valve.

6
Finish Cue

The brew should finish around 3:15-3:45. It is done when the coffee-bed surface shows and the flow turns to drops.

Use this exact setting as your starting baseline. Grinder calibration, burr wear and coffee density can cause small differences.

Technique

Preheat the glass thoroughly, keep agitation gentle and use the valve timing as the main control point. Treat the recipe as a starting point and adjust after tasting.

Pouring tip

Use the glass cone as a visual guide. Keep the level controlled, and make valve changes only after the stated time and visual cue are both satisfied.
